RED FISH GRILL – 115 Bourbon – Ralph Brennan’s restaurant. casual but good local food.
BOURBON HOUSE- 144 Bourbon- Dickie Brennan’s restaurant. lots of local seafood variety.
ACME OYSTER HOUSE – ultra-casual with red-checkered tablecloths. no reservations needed
CAFÉ DU MONDE- beignets!
PAT O’BRIEN’S – 718 St Peter- touristy, but fun. Hurricanes!
LAFITTE’S BLACKSMITH SHOP- 941 Bourbon- oldest bar in U.S.
NAPOLEON HOUSE – definitely worth a drink here near Jackson square
COMMANDER’S PALACE – most famous Brennan’s restaurant in Garden district.
**MANDINA’S – 3800 Canal St. (MID-CITY)- my personal favorite for casual lunch – really good. 10 minute cab ride
UPTOWN: definitely check this area out —
UPPERLINE- great local food not touristy. a bit more dressy. similar to Clancy’s.
CLANCY’S – great fancy restaurant. I usually go here when home for nice dinner.
**DOMILISE’S – 5240 Annunciation St.- awesome po-boys. This is where I always go–
CASAMENTO’S – known for oyster po-boys. Last time there I sat next to Eli Manning.
**TIPITINA’S – 501 NAPOLEON AVE, UPTOWN. Don’t miss this bar. best to see a band here – quintessential NOLA.
MAPLE LEAF BAR – 8316 OAK ST, UPTOWN. A bit far but worth the trip. lots of small bands play here
