Hung out in the morning and worked. At 2 pm Charlie and I walked along the Tiber and through the Jewish Ghetto to the Pantheon, about 40 minutes away, with a stop for a prosciutto sandwich. We hung out at the Pantheon for a bit, found a great gelateria where Charlie enjoyed – really enjoyed – a dark chocolate gelato. We then walked back home with a lovely detour through Campo di Fiori and a stop at San Bartolomeo all’Isola on Isola Tiberina. Along the way we saw curious shops, curious people, and an extraordinarily large swimming rat in the Tiber (we thought it was a beaver). We returned home around 5 pm after a stop at our local grocery store for sausage, bell peppers, Roma tomatoes, various spices, and other pasta sauce fixings.
Charlie is now making dinner – his idea – with me in a minor consulting role. Does life get any better? Only if Becky were here.
