travelswithcharles: ¡Feliz cumpleaños Charlie! digger Gracias, Digger and Mary!
Charlie and I helped Fundación Ayuda Niños La Paz’s relief efforts today at the poor community of Colonia Laguna Azul. He handed out relief bags and helped interview residents, while I took photos and video. Eye-opening to see long lines for drinking water, rice and beans. A few photos below. More on Picasa .

Dinner at Il Rustico, recommended by Laura Rodriguez as the best Italian restaurant in La Paz. I had pennem all arrabiata con gamberi, Charlie had pesto pasta. We shared a caprese salad. Main dishes were deliciious. Caprese salad, not so – tomatoes here are just not very good. Ranked by TripAdvisor #10 of 180 restaurants in La Paz. Met the owner who is from Grosetto in southern Tuscany.

Agua, corriente (luz), internet…ustedes tienen todas las comodidades…pero qué lástima que murió el escorpión. digs
